PATRICIA ANN McROBERT
1933-2008

Patricia Ann McRobert ,74, of Kansas City, Missouri died February 22, 2008 at Shirkey’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. 

She was born the daughter of Michael Paul and Anna Maxine (Barker) Palmer on September 26th, 1933, in Keokuk IA. 

Patricia grew up in Memphis, Missouri and graduated from Memphis High School in 1951.  She earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Missouri in May of 1955. Her first teaching job was at Montgomery County High School in Montgomery City, Missouri in the fall of 1955.  She married Lowell Max McRobert in 1954 and was divorced from him in 1970. 

Pat retired in 2003 from teaching in the Park Hill School District and she thoroughly enjoyed her part-time work at Hall’s Plaza and Crown Center stores from 1978 - 2003. She was a member of Hillside Christian Church in the 1970’s, and she served in their choir for many years.  She was a founding regent of the Clay County chapter of the DAR, and she was active in the Parents Without Partners organization.  She was a member of the Old Pike Country Club for many years. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and community at Garden Village, an independent living facility in Kansas City, who worked so hard toward allowing Pat to stay with them as long as possible as Alzheimer’s took its toll. Additionally, the family cannot say enough about the people from Shirkey’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Missouri and their Wing 3 and Wing 6 Alzheimer’s Units who were so loving and caring for Pat over the last year and through her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Maxine Palmer.

She is survived by her son, Michael Paul McRobert and his wife Anita of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Sally McRobert Wise and her husband Tim of Leonardtown, MD; brother, Paul and wife Linda Palmer, of Kansas City; grandchildren, Jeffrey Michael McRobert, Anna Maxine McRobert and Jennifer Nicole McRobert of Kansas City, Missouri, Patricia Adele Wise, Mary Helen Wise and Katie Wise of Leonardtown, Maryland; her nephew, Mark Palmer of Houston, Texas and her niece, Betsy Hrdlicka of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, February 29^th, at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Larry Smith, pastor of the Downing Christian Church, officiating.  Visitation was prior to the service, from noon until 1 p.m.   Inurnment will be in the Memphis Cemetery.
